Q: What areas do you service?
A: We service Colorado residents all across the North-Metro Denver, Front Range, and Boulder County areas including: Broomfield, Superior, Louisville, Lafayette, Eldorado Springs, Boulder, Nederland, Gunbarrel, Niwot, Leyner, Erie, and Longmont.

Q: What type of work do you perform?

Q: What is the process in hiring JH Carpentry?
A: For simple jobs the process can be as easy as contacting our project manager via telephone or email with a photograph of the work you need completed in order to receive an estimate. For more complex jobs it heavily depends on our level of involvement. We have the ability to take a new build from start to finish which includes ordering blueprints and contracting engineers, or joining the build later in the process to sub contract finish work, trim, cabinetry, etc. The best thing to do is to simply get the ball rolling by reaching out to us at 303-910-9055 or feel free to email James for more information at james@jhboulder.com.

Q: What are your prices?
A: Although prices vary depending on the scope of work required for a build, the quality of materials, and the accessibility of the worksite, JH prides themselves in providing customers with pricing that is current and competitive. We give homeowners a free rough quote that is tailored to their project, and customers are then given a contract to look over and sign before any action is taken. Be aware that for large scope projects that require more extensive research, custom estimates will be charged at an hourly rate of which the customer will be informed.

Q: What type of contract will I be signing?
A: There are two types of contracts commonly used in residential construction. Our contract of preference is referred to as a "Cost Plus Contract" which covers the cost of the build in its entirety plus a management and coordination fee. The beauty in this type of contract is that it encourages transparency and teamwork between the homeowner and the GC. A more detailed discussion of why we prefer to use the "Cost Plus Contract" can be found by clicking the tab entitled "Benefits of Cost-Plus Contracting" at the top of the page. The alternative is the "Competitive Bid Contract" where in we give you a hard number estimate, allowing for much less flexibility throughout the project.

Q: How do you charge?
A: Any and all charges will be outlined in our contracts. Typically we ask for 30% up front, 30% after half of the project is completed, 30% upon completion and the final 10% at our final walk through with the homeowner in order to make sure everything turned out exactly to your specifications. We gladly accept cash or check.

Q: How do I get materials for the job?
A: There are several options when it comes to acquiring the materials for your new project, all of which will be discussed with you before signing a contract with JH Carpentry. Many customers opt for us to bill them and bring the needed materials ahead of time. In addition, we stock our company trailers with any variety of common home improvement and construction materials and hardware specifically with your job in mind. Another option is for you to purchase the materials either ahead of time or as we are beginning the work. Please note that while we always make our best attempt to inform you of the proper materials, we are not responsible for any error in materials purchased by customers. Q: What is the general timeline for completing a project?
A: Our general process and timeline for a project is as follows:

  4. Job proposal
  5. Contract signing and scheduling
  6. Execution
  7. Customer walk-through
  8. Final touch-ups
  9. Project turnover to customer

A: We are confident in our work and strive for complete customer satisfaction with a one year limited warranty.

JH Carpentry Workmanship Warranty

JH Carpentry, LLC. will cover defects in its workmanship, free of charge, up to one (1) year for work performed under this agreement. This warranty goes into effect once payment by customer has been issued and received in full to JH Carpentry. This guarantee does not apply to material failure (see below paragraph), regular wear and tear or any supernatural occurrences ("Acts of God"). If any warranty repairs are made, these repairs do not extend the length of the warranty past the original one (1) year from when the original work was performed. This warranty issued by JH Carpentry does not apply to materials that are warranted by manufacturers or to materials that are supplied by the customer or any other third parties. This warranty is completely void if the customer and/or third party modifies, in any way, the original workmanship of JH Carpentry. JH Carpentry is committed to producing high quality carpentry created with honesty and integrity.
